It is no secret we adore these love birds and we are extremely pleased to end the year, exactly like we did in 2015, 2016, and 2017 with our favorite Damian & Helen moments of 2018!
Well, it is obviously not easy to be two ridiculously talented and busy actors living together and raising a family. I remember Damian telling us at Cheltenham Literature Festival that the problem never goes away:
“When you’re two actors living together, you’re always asked to do work away from your home, so you just have to decide which ones are important enough to go and do away from home and try to spend the rest of the time together.”
And that is exactly what Damian and Helen have done in 2018.
While he needs to spend, give or take, half of the year in New York to shoot Billions, Damian goes back home often. Here is what he shares with The Evening Standard last year about his commute between New York and London.
“I’ve pretty much flown back and forth from New York to London every ten days for the last six months.
It’s not easy to leave my kids but I tell them I’m flying back to work so we can have a nice holiday later on with all the air miles that I’m amassing.
We muddle through but it is hard work. I must say, I’m getting quite tired of the departure lounge at Newark Airport.”
There was a week to ten days last February that Damian seemed to have a break from Billions shoot and had some quality time with Helen!
We first spotted our favorite couple as they arrived for the annual Charles Finch and Chanel pre-BAFTAs dinner party…
…followed by appearances at Temperley, Erdem and Roksanda fashion shows during London Fashion Week…
…and attending The BRIT Awards where Damian was one of the presenters.
In March, Damian and Helen celebrated International Women’s Day at Letters Live which is “a celebration of enduring power of literary correspondence.” At the live event, the remarkable letters Damian and Helen read along with other outstanding performers such as Benedict Cumberbatch, Kristin Scott Thomas, Gina Miller, and Sophie Hunter, took the audience on an emotional and unforgettable journey through time.
We know Damian and Helen always support each other. And here is Damian beaming with pride when Helen did not only make him but all of us proud when she read a speech by Millicent Fawcett, a feminist icon primarily known for her relentless work for women’s suffrage, as the statue of Fawcett was unveiled in Parliament Square in London.
Very proud that my wife reading a speech of Millicent Fawcett at this event in Parliament Sq. Founder of the suffrage movement. #remarkablewomen https://t.co/Ls8RM4At93

Our favorite couple kicked off the summer with a number of charity galas and parties. Here they are at the Save the Children UK‘s ’80s-themed “Night of Hits” fundraiser. These ’80s kids not only helped to raise money for children in need around the world, but also got to hang out with their close friends Allie Esiri and Helena Bonham Carter.
Our favorite couple then took the time to help celebrate the Old Vic’s 200th Birthday where Damian hailed the historic venue as a “creative hub” and participated in what seems to be a delicious performance of Singing in the Rain! You can visit our gallery for more pics from the ball!
Then came the National Centre for Circus Arts Gala, which Helen attended as an ambassador, to help raise money to support the next generation of circus artists, followed by the Best Beginnings 10th Anniversary Gala, and an evening with Prince Charles at St. James’s Palace in support of the Prince’s Trust Youth Can Do It campaign.

We found Damian and Helen early July at the British Summer Time Festival in Hyde Park as part of the “Into the White” campaign launch, a new and ambitious tech platform, raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust through the auction of contemporary art. You can visit our gallery for more pics from the festival.
We all know Damian is a sports guy through and through. And while she always attends the games Damian plays in, Helen repeatedly says she is not as sporty as her better half. She tells Telegraph in 2008:
“Damian and I have separate interests. I don’t care if Liverpool win or lose. Nor could I explain any of the cricket scoring.”
😀
But, hey, it seems tennis is an exception!
Damian and Helen attended Wimbledon to watch men’s semi-finals one of which (Anderson v Isner) ended up being the longest ever semi-final (6 hours and 36 minutes) at Wimbledon! And as the game got longer and longer, the couple took the time to study their snacks 😀 You can see more pics from Wimbledon at our gallery!
And, even though we believe her that she is not as sporty as Damian, Helen can certainly get into the action and play, too! Proof attached: How about a round of frisbee in Primrose Hill? 😀
And I cannot help LOVE Damian the fan whatever the context is… whether it is his beloved Liverpool, or his favorite radio program, or say, a Rolling Stones Concert 😀 Well, Damian’s tweets and the few fan photos we have seen on social media from the Rolling Stones Concert he and Helen attended speak volumes!
Looking forward to this sooooo much. https://t.co/VPwxti1i9Z

And the family vacations! Lewis-McCrory had a magical weekend at Port Eliot Festival, a celebration of everything literary, in Cornwall: They immersed themselves in activities such as learning about the history of Vikings to dancing to Teleman, Damian’s new favorite band, around midnight to, hell yes, axe throwing lessons ending with “The Axe” signing an axe for Canoe Cornwall! 😀 😀 😀

Then the family was off to Liquid Leisure, one of the largest water parks in Europe, for some wet fun, and Damian hilariously photobombing a fan’s photo! 😀
Next, in August, they had some La Dolce Vita in Puglia, Italy! Thanks to posts on social media, we saw them taking a boat to the Caves of Polignano a Mare and visiting the Cathedral at Lecce. We all LOVE the new hat that has now become a constant companion to our favorite guy! 😀
And as if I needed another reason to love Damian… he was carrying a travel guide under his arm as they visited the cathedral — that is exactly how to do it, Damian! In other words, that is exactly how I do it 😀

Damian and Helen on the trading floor together on BGC Charity Day to raise funds for Sir Hubert von Herkomer Arts Foundation that is dedicated to ensuring every child is given a chance to connect with and express their inner artist in a time when funding for the arts are squeezed out of the mainstream curriculum.
You can visit our gallery for more pictures and videos from BGC charity day.
We have also seen fan reports on Twitter that Damian and Helen were at Chessington World of Adventures, the same theme park we saw our favorite couple wearing fun wigs and masks and feeding the giraffes last year! Wish we had a glimpse of them managing a bunch of pre-teens… but we at least know the reports were true! 🙂

Helen describes the possible complications in the life of an actor couplein an interview with The Telegraph:
“We’re never our own masters, Damian and I, so it’s about being patient and kind to each other. When the other person said they were going to be home at 7pm and you’ve made dinner, and they don’t actually get back till 3am… do you know what? It’s not their fault, don’t give them a hard time. Even if it upsets you. Because they’re not in control of that.”
And we’ve seen a concrete example of this in October when Helen was not able to make it to Los Angeles to be with Damian as he received his very well-deserved Britannia Award for Excellence in Television. She was filming Peaky Blinders Season 5 in Manchester. But we give it to Damian that his tribute to his lovely wife in his gracious, thoughtful and hilarious speech was second to none!
“… and my love, Helen, who’s not here… and I said ‘come on babe so you just come out for a night get a day off filming’… She’s in Manchester… And her voice dropped alarmingly. deeply and she said ‘Damian… Nobody messes with the Peaky fucking Blinders…”
😀 😀 😀
On a recent break from Billions shoot, Damian took Manon and Gully to Mary Poppins Returns premiere at Royal Albert Hall. The kids are almost teenagers now and these three smiles absolutely melt the heart!
Now that Billions Season 4 shoot is having a holiday break, Damian is enjoying the holidays with his family!
We wish Lewis-McCrory family and all our readers a WONDERFUL New Year. See you in 2019!
