Damian Lewis: A Year at Home – Part I

While Damian is currently in NYC filming the rest of Billions Season 5, this past year has been different than any other for him (and for us all)! There was no filming, no theatre, no cheering for his beloved Liverpool at Anfield, no live concert or summer festival. But the good news is that the pandemic let Damian spend more time than ever with his family, let him make a lot of time for charity and let those of us on the other side of the pond catch our favorite actor in a few fabulous virtual performances! From Charity to Sports to Theatre: We Know What Damian Lewis Did During The Covid-19 Lockdown! *UPDATED*

“I am going to have a summer.“

This is how Damian promptly responded to a lady who asked him at The Goat stage door back in May 2017 about what he would be doing between The Goat and Billions, whose shoot would not start until September. And that was his first full summer with family since Damian constantly worked summers between 2011 while he was shooting Homeland to 2016 when they started shooting Billions shoot in July.

And he was probably pleased with the results that this is the fourth summer in a row Damian has spent with family but also the first he spent mostly at home, like the rest of us, due to Covid-19 pandemic. Damian was filming Billions in New York when the pandemic arrived in the US. As they took a break from filming mid-March, he came back home, and has had a spring and summer bookended by two important Covid-19 activities. The long wait is over! Spy Wars with Damian Lewis is coming to the Smithsonian Channel, a joint venture between CBS and the Smithsonian Institute on March 22! Smithsonian Channel may be part of your cable subscription, and if it is not, you can watch it as part of your Hulu Live, You Tube TV subscription. A+E Networks and Royal Television Society (RTS) jointly held a special screening of Spy Wars followed by a Q&A with the brains behind the project before the series premiered on History Channel UK last fall. And thanks to Tsvetanka, a true friend and a wonderful fan, attending the screening and recording a good chunk of the Q & A for us, as well as Damian appearing and talking about Spy Wars on Chris Evans Show I know what to talk about when to talk about Spy Wars with Damian Lewis.

Top Damian Lewis Moments 2019: Spy Wars Screening and Q&A at the British Museum

Well, it is THAT time of the year again! We have “Best of 2019” lists wherever we look: Best Books of 2019, Best Movies of 2019, Best Music of 2019 and so on… And, it is our utmost pleasure to jump on the “Best of” wagon with our TOP Damian Lewis Moments of 2019! As we take the last days of the year to revisit the wonderful year Damian has had personally and professionally, we very much hope to put a smile on your face.

We don’t intend to rank the top moments as many “Best of” lists do. We pick the moments in which, we believe, Damian shines as a brilliant actor, a wonderful storyteller, a true gentleman, a serious athlete or just a guy who knows to have a good time and bring them to you.

Damian Lewis Spy Wars: All You Want To Know About Damian’s First Factual TV Program

Damian Lewis:Spy Wars is premiering on History Channel UK tonight. We are sharing all you want to know about Damian’s first factual TV program once again and very much hope that Spy Wars will come to this side of the pond sooner than later! ENJOY!

This post is long due. It has been months since we got word that Damian would set foot on the docu-drama territory with Damian Lewis: Spy Wars, a joint project between A+E Networks and Alaska TV. But then there was not much information except for a few promotion pictures and so it was not easy for me to put together a post to get you all in the mood. But now that the series is premiering on History Channel UK next month, A+E Networks and Royal Television Society (RTS) jointly held a special screening of Spy Wars followed by a Q&A with the brains behind the project and that a great friend attended the screening and recorded a good chunk of the Q & A for us, I am ready!
