While Damian is currently in NYC filming the rest of Billions Season 5, this past year has been different than any other for him (and for us all)! There was no filming, no theatre, no cheering for his beloved Liverpool at Anfield, no live concert or summer festival. But the good news is that the pandemic let Damian spend more time than ever with his family, let him make a lot of time for charity and let those of us on the other side of the pond catch our favorite actor in a few fabulous virtual performances! Fan Fun with Damian Lewis is six years old today!
Here we are, a bunch of inspired fans, 2192 days, 1127 blog posts and over 2.34 million views from 224 countries later… absolutely thrilled and totally beaming about how far we have come!
Time flies.
I vividly remember the conversation I had with Lewisto as I was pondering, in the last weeks of 2014, whether it would be worth keeping an online fan diary about Damian Lewis. In close to six years that Fan Fun with Damian Lewis has been live, we have found out so much about Damian himself: His family background, his personal life, his interests, his vacations and what have you. And it is inevitable to think about yourself when you learn something new about your favorite star. “Oh, Damian is my long lost twin!” or “Oh, Damian should be my soulmate” or “OMG! How come he likes this?!?!” or “I cannot believe how different Damian and I are.”
Gingersnap and I thought it would be neat to turn those moments into a fun post. So we sat down and wrote about things each of us has in common with Damian and a couple of other things that each of us is polar opposites of him. Having been born not just in the same decade, 1970s, but also within a year of each other, Damian and I have similarities like riding our bikes up and down the street when we were kids, or listening to music on our Sony Walkmans when we were teenagers.
