Throwback Thursday to Desert Island Discs with Damian Lewis

Holidays are COMING — most fabulous time of the year that we spend with family and friends and make new happy memories! That’s why I thought it would be FUN to have Damian talk about some happy memories of his own today on the blog. And I cannot think anything better than the sweet stories he shared with us when he was Kirsty Young’s Castaway on BBC Radio 4 Desert Island Discs (DID) two years ago.

Here’s the drill if you are not familiar with the program: The castaway comes having done his homework; with eight pieces of music — one of which he will choose as his favorite — plus a book and a luxury item that he will take to his island with him. You hear the music during the program accompanied with a story from the castaway about why he has chosen this particular piece. We focus on Damian’s selections today on the blog, and you can listen the entire Damian Lewis DID here and download it to listen on the go, too!

Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis Receiving His OBE Award

Happy Thanksgiving!

We celebrate this wonderful holiday with family and friends — we indulge ourselves maybe a little bit too much with turkey and stuffing and mashed potatoes and give thanks, among other great things in our lives, for Damian Lewis and the characters he brings to life and into our lives 🙂 And then we travel back to exactly two years ago and be proud of our favorite actor one more time! Because, exactly two years ago today, Damian Lewis received his OBE from Duke of Cambridge and made us all proud!

Damian Lewis, an Englishman in New York: 2016 edition p. 2

Our Englishman doesn’t stay cooped up between work and home, and neither do we, dear readers! More sightings of our fair Englishman in New York and environs to share!

I would love to take us all today to a special Harvest service, organized by British Food Fortnight to rekindle the tradition of Harvest Festival, at the Westminster Abbey in 2013, an event that Damian Lewis does not only attend with family — as a foodie, I cannot think of anything better than celebrating food with family, no wonder Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday! —   but also actively participates in the celebrations as well as has a conversation with the Duchess of Cornwall, who is also in attendance, about the whereabouts of one certain Nicholas Brody! 😀 Continue reading “Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis at Harvest Festival 2013”

Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis & Helen McCrory at Cheltenham Literature Festival

Damian loves and supports poetry and so do we! One poetry project he has actively supported is The Love Book, a brilliant collection of classic and contemporary love poems that vary from Shakespeare to E.E. Cummings to Maya Angelou coming together in a book as well as in an app. And it is my utmost pleasure to take us all back to The Love Book event I was extremely lucky to attend at Cheltenham Literature Festival exactly two years ago: Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory read Great Love Poems.
