Damian and his band kicked off their summer festival gigs, starting with playing the Black Deer Festival of Americana at Eridge Park located on the Kent/East Sussex border near Tunbridge Wells on Saturday June 15, 2024. Damian played a gig at last year’s festival and was a welcomed return to the main stage!

He played songs off his first album Mission Creep including My Little One, Down on the Bowery and Hole in My Roof, as well as songs off of his new and upcoming second album like Love Bomb and She Makin’ Me Change. After the gig Damian headed over to the merchandise tent to sign merch for the fans.

Damian Lewis as an Onscreen Dad

Dad is a word which can evoke a minefield of emotions simply because the word is personal to each of us and our personal circumstances will affect whether the word evokes positive or negative emotions.

Being a Dad (in real life) can be all kinds of difficult and rewarding. With Father’s Day approaching we take a look at Damian Lewis as an onscreen Dad.

“Love is the strongest power there is.” – J.K. Rowling

Probably because I lost my dad at a very young age, I am a true sucker for loving father-daughter relationships in fiction. So here goes a few of my favorite moments with Damian Lewis as an onscreen dad. Even though the characters in each relationship are quite different, there is an overarching theme: A lost soul who finds meaning in life through his love for his daughter.

Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis’ Broadway Debut in Hamlet

Recently, Lewisto and I were in the beautiful Belasco Theater to see the brilliant play Appropriate with Sarah Paulson and Corey Stoll aka Mike Prince from Billions…

…but Corey Stoll is not the only connection to Damian here. Belasco Theater is where our guy made his Broadway debut as Laertes to Ralph Fiennes’ Hamlet back in 1995. As the wise Charlie Crews once said “everything’s connected” and so we travel back to that time  and chase a 24 year old Englishman in New York!

Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis as Hamlet At Open Air Theatre

Damian Lewis is returning to Open Air Theatre in Regent’s Park in the brilliant Allie Esiri’s brain child Shakespeare for Every Day of the Year – Live! thirty years after he played the title role in Hamlet. Tickets are selling very fast so grab a ticket if you want to be there on July 8. And don’t forget to make pics and vids for the mortals, like me, who will miss this one-night only performance!

I think it will be an emotional experience for Damian to be on that stage again, a happy one, and so I would like to celebrate his return to Open Air Theatre by revisiting him as a 23 year old kid, ahem, actor, in Hamlet!

On the 80th Anniversary of D-Day: Band of Brothers Episode 2 “Day of Days”

source: HBO

On June 6, 1944, more than 160,000 allied troops landed along a 50-mile stretch of heavily-guarded French coastline to fight the Nazis on the beaches of Normandy. Today, on the 80th anniversary of D-day, we are revisiting Band of Brothers Episode 2 “Day of Days” in honor and memory of all men and women who contributed to the victory in WWII. We are eternally grateful. Continue reading “On the 80th Anniversary of D-Day: Band of Brothers Episode 2 “Day of Days””
