TOP Damian Lewis Moments 2018: From The UEFA Champions League to The World Cup

When asked about what he is watching on TV at Times Talks London back in 2014, Damian first talks about the usual suspects including Breaking BadMad Men and Game of Thrones and then adds that on top of his recording list is ALWAYS Match of the Day. And many thanks go to Bookworm for reminding me of a Homeland Fun Fact about Match of the Day! Remember the scene in Homeland Pilot where Carrie notices Brody’s almost jazz-like finger tapping…

…it turns out Damian is finger tapping to Match of the Day tune there. You can hear the story from the man himself on the Commentary for the Pilot on Homeland Season 1 DVD and even hear Damian humming the tune for Claire

So, yes, Damian Lewis LOVES his footie! Continue reading “TOP Damian Lewis Moments 2018: From The UEFA Champions League to The World Cup”

“He’s more Just Like Us than we are”: Take the Tube like Damian Lewis!

Hello everyone! While this post is from more than two years ago, it is my pleasure to share it again and again, in particular when I notice a recent tweet about Damian taking the subway in NYC or the tube in London.

Enjoy!

Here is the most HILARIOUS conversation between Damian Lewis and Nick Grimshaw, the host of BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show that Damian joined last week. You can hear the radio bit (short version) here and (long version, starts at 01:33:48) here. BIG thanks go to JaniaJania for transcribing part of the conversation for me!

Damian Lewis at Eton College – Part II

“I remain sort of interested and slightly befuddled by my five years there. It’s such a rare existence. It feels a little bit like another time, another world.” – Damian Lewis, The Guardian, 2013

When I recently sat down to write about Damian’s years at Eton College, I realized there was so much to write about especially because Damian got asked a ton about Eton in interviews. And this is obviously not about him being particularly eager to share his elite school experience but about the media’s never-ending interest in elite schools as well as the ongoing discussion about “posh actors” dominating the acting scene in the UK. So I find it inevitable to make a second post about Eton to talk about how Damian feels about being an “Eton-educated” actor.

Damian shares in an interview with The Telegraph that even though he went to Eton, he is not disproportionately rich and entitled. He adds:

“I also went into a profession where no amount of old school ties could help me.”

Damian Lewis at Eton College – Part I

“I remain sort of interested and slightly befuddled by my five years there. It’s such a rare existence. It feels a little bit like another time, another world.” – Damian Lewis, The Guardian, 2013

When we talked about Damian’s education, we talked about his early education at Ashdown House as well as his years at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. And we are now ready to dive into the five years, between ages 13-18, Damian spends at a school that has been around for almost six centuries and is very well-known for educating generations of aristocracy, prime ministers as well as the great George Orwell whose talking statue Damian voices 🙂

Yes, today, we give you Damian Lewis at Eton College. Continue reading “Damian Lewis at Eton College – Part I”

From Festivals to Sports to Charity: We Know What Damian Lewis Did This Summer :D

Happy Labor Day! It means this is the last chance for most of us to have one last long weekend before the summer ends. But it also means Billions Season 4 shoot is starting in New York, well, tomorrow!!!! It goes without saying we will follow the shoot to the best of our ability and write about our hopes, wishes and fantasies for Season 4 in the coming weeks and months.

But, today, we will talk about Damian’s summer, the second in a row he has enjoyed fully!

Damian constantly worked all summers between 2011 while he was shooting Homeland to 2016 when they were starting the Billions shoot in summer. So, when asked by a fan at The Goat stage door back in May 2017 about what he would be doing between The Goat and Billions, whose shoot would not start until September, he responded promptly: Continue reading “From Festivals to Sports to Charity: We Know What Damian Lewis Did This Summer :D”
