Happy Birthday, Helen McCrory! TOP DOZEN Reasons to Love Her

“Actually, I’m looking forward to being 50, because to me that’s when a woman is at the pinnacle of her femininity and her womanhood.” —Helen McCrory in an interview with The Independent

Thanks to recent interviews with Helen in The Telegraph and The Times, we have found out about her 50th birthday celebrations!

“He (Damian) took me to the Wallace Collection. He got the gentleman in charge to give us a tour, which was my idea of heaven. Then we went to a hotel that will remain nameless, then home.

When I came down to dinner, my whole family were there and a load of friends. Damian is very good at throwing surprise parties. And because I always dress up, I just happened to have on a 1920s backless blue velvet evening gown with a pair of old Fila trainers.”

So, Damian, we do not know if you are throwing another surprise party for 51, but here we are throwing a birthday party for your better half on the blog. Continue reading “Happy Birthday, Helen McCrory! TOP DOZEN Reasons to Love Her”

Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis’ Proust Questionnaire

Damian Lewis answered Vanity Fair‘s famous “Proust Questionnaire” in March 2017 after he wrapped Billions Season 2 and before he returned to London stage in Edward Albee’s The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?Β

We, Fan Fun girls, thought, firstly, it would be a lot of FUN for us to fill out the questionnaire, too, and compare our answers to Damian’s! And, secondly, we thought this would give our readers an opportunity to get to know every one of us a little bit better in case they are interested. And yeah we sincerely hope that you are! πŸ˜€

So here we go! We kick off our ‘Proust Questionnaire’ project today with Damian’s answers. Please come back to see our individual questionnaires starting next Tuesday. Continue reading “Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis’ Proust Questionnaire”

Happy 12th Anniversary, Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory!

I have been married for quite some time (23 years in two days!) but my husband and I don’t care much about our marriage anniversary. We somehow feel it is just the day we β€œlegally” became a couple and what we do instead is to celebrate the day we started dating πŸ˜€ And I obviously do not know if Damian and Helen are having a big celebration for their anniversary, but one thing I know is that even if they are not, an entire nation is celebrating with fireworks today on their behalf πŸ˜€

From Accent to Physicality: The
“American” Damian Lewis

“This sounds absurdly pretentious, but the American Damian, I’m sort of oddly comfortable with him.” – Damian Lewis

A GuardianΒ article from July 2015 talks about Brits versus Yanks in Hollywood:

The invasion of British and Irish leading men in Hollywood has now gone beyond a joke for many in the American entertainment industry. First noticed some time in 2011, the trend was initially dismissed as a novelty: an interesting phase that would pass, rather than as a threat. But this summer actors and directors are calling for action to mobilise American drama teachers and schools to counter it.”

So Hollywood hasΒ finally taken notice and isΒ now somehow mobilizing to defend its territory againstΒ the British invasion πŸ˜€ Well, maybe it is too little too late at this point? I mean, it is not that the Brits are coming, but they have already arrived. Besides, Vanity FairΒ says “victory is assured” in the video clip below, with fabulous ginger alert at 0:29, about which I blogged about earlier here! TOP Damian Lewis Moments 2018: Hand in Hand

It is no secret we adore these love birds andΒ we are extremely pleased to end the year, exactly like we did in 2015,Β 2016, and 2017 with our favorite Damian & Helen moments of 2018!

Well, it is obviously not easyΒ to be twoΒ ridiculously talented and busy actors living together and raising a family.Β I remember Damian telling us at Cheltenham Literature Festival that the problem never goes away:

β€œWhen you’re two actors living together, you’re always asked to do work away from your home, so you just have to decide which ones are important enough to go and do away from home and try to spend the rest of the time together.”

And that is exactly what Damian and Helen have done in 2018.Β  Continue reading “TOP Damian Lewis Moments 2018: Hand in Hand”
