Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory
Lighting the Christmas Tree

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Now that we have the Rockefeller Christmas Tree lit up, winter holidays are officially here… And the beauty is in the fact that everyone is celebrating something. It is Christmas, or it is Hannukah, or it is Kwanzaa, or it is Winter Solstice, or it is New Year’s or it is Festivus for the rest of us (Seinfeld, anyone?)… 😀

And, whatever you hold holy, Happy Holidays! Continue reading “Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory Lighting the Christmas Tree”

Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory Bring Their Magic To Poetry: A Tribute

The Sunday Times reported over the weekend that Damian Lewis rediscovered a love poetry recording he and his late wife Helen McCrory did together at Cheltenham Literature Festival back in October 2014. Well, I was there in the room when Damian and Helen read love poems to each other from The Love Book, a brilliant collection of classic and contemporary love poems that vary from Shakespeare to E.E. Damian Lewis: A Year at Home – Part I

While Damian is currently in NYC filming the rest of Billions Season 5, this past year has been different than any other for him (and for us all)! There was no filming, no theatre, no cheering for his beloved Liverpool at Anfield, no live concert or summer festival. But the good news is that the pandemic let Damian spend more time than ever with his family, let him make a lot of time for charity and let those of us on the other side of the pond catch our favorite actor in a few fabulous virtual performances! So it is my pleasure today to revisit the year Damian spent home. Continue reading “Damian Lewis: A Year at Home – Part I”

Damian Lewis Plays a Tudor King and Hangs out with the Windsors :D

USA Today, in an interview about Wolf Hall and Henry VIII, asks Damian what it is that makes the Royal Family so intriguing:

“They provide a lot of stories. I think they are best and they are great ambassadors for the country but they provide fairy tales… Prince Charles and Princess Diana fairytale which you guys over here… goodness… you know… just lapped up and they become great sources of fascination… “

All We Need is… The Love Book with Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory!

helendamianpoetry

February is the month of LOVE and poetry is one of the most beautiful ways to express love… We love poetry on Fan Fun with Damian Lewis. And, especially because Damian loves and actively supports poetry, we do our best to promote poetry! And, one of the main poetry projects Damian supports is the Love Book project including a book as well as an app, a brilliant collection of classic and contemporary love poems that vary from Shakespeare to E.E. Cummings to Maya Angelou.

It is always a pleasure to talk about the Love Book project and an absolutely delightful Love Book event that I was extremely lucky to attend in October 2014 at Cheltenham Literature Festival: Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory read Great Love Poemsfollowed by a wonderful book signing by Allie, Damian and Helen!

And I am thinking there is a pretty good DIY Valentine’s Day project for you and your significant other hidden in there – keep reading! Continue reading “All We Need is… The Love Book with Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory!”
