I told you that my reports from the second leg of Damian Lewis’ ‘Mission Creep’ UK Tour would be threefold. I started with Damian sitting with me for a relaxed and insightful interview about his music followed by all I could remember from the four gigs I attended. And, now, ladies and gentlemen, I am thrilled to give you a fun backstage report from the tour! Continue reading “Backstage with Damian Lewis”

The Best Week Ever: Following Damian Lewis on his UK Tour Part II
‘We loved playing for all of you over the last few weeks. So much fun so much chat so many sweets so much love so many DLous so many burrito wraps so good so beautiful so longβ¦..” —Damian Lewis
Damian has recently taken to Instagram to reflected on the second leg of his Mission Creep tour as above. And now that I reflect on my week long trip to the UK to follow Damian and the band from Stroud to Poole to Norwich to Cambridge, it was so many train rides, so many hotel rooms, so much gloomy British weather, so little sleep, and a lost passport for God’s sake! But it was all WORTH IT for the fantastic music, fun chats, much love and big laughs with people I adore! IT WAS THE BEST WEEK EVER! And this post is my way of saying thank you to Damian, Dave, Will, Kitty, Joe, Phil, Jamie, Amelie, Jack, Steve, Vicky and my old friends Tsvete and Monique and new friend Mel for making it a dream trip! And special thanks go to the U.S. Embassy in London for helping me.

I am back from a week-long fantastic trip to the UK following Damian Lewis and his brilliant band from Stroud to Poole to Norwich to Cambridge in the second leg of his ‘Mission Creep” UK tour. I cannot wait to share with you my report from the gigs, fun backstage shenanigans, and a few surprises in the days and weeks to come.
But first…
Interviewing Damian has been a huge dream for me. In fact, I have been able to interview him a couple of times in the years past. And there were always people around. Continue reading “An Exclusive Fan Fun Interview with Damian Lewis”

2 long flights. 3 intercity trains. 1 private car service from Brighton to Manchester due to national train strike. 1 ultra-crazy taxi cab ride in soaking rain in Manchester where our driver drives on the pavement saying it is his “special move”! And, ladies and gentlemen, a group of crazy groupies, or in Damian’s kind wordsΒ “crazy front row ladies” have completed a three day travel to his gigs in Brighton, Manchester, and Leeds in the middle of a national train strike. So, similar to the postal carrier’s motto, our motto goes like:
“Neither rain, nor distance, nor strikes, nor crazy cab drivers shall keep the Damian Lewis groupies from the gigs!”
From Lockdown to Mission Creep: Damian Lewis’ Music Journey – Part II
βI wanted the album to give a sense of a journey to this point, from busking βtil now. I suddenly had a lot to say. People will judge if itβs any good or not, but for me, it felt entirely natural.β – Damian Lewis
You can read Part I here. We had a cliffhanger at the end of Part I… Steve Abbott introduced Damian to Giacomo Smith, one of the bestΒ jazz musicians workingΒ in London today…
Then Jay Rayner ofΒ Out to Lunch podcast let the world know about Damian performing Dr. John’s “Such a Night” with Giacomo and his band Kansas Smittys – and asked Damian if the experience was as fun as it looked… Continue reading “From Lockdown to Mission Creep: Damian Lewis’ Music Journey – Part II”
